For Students
Helping Students Encounter Jesus & Thrive
RidgeStudents exists to help students encounter Jesus and thrive in a growing relationship with Him. We consider it a privilege to walk alongside middle and high school students as they take next steps in their faith—owning what they believe, building Christ-centered friendships, discovering their gifts, and learning how to live out and share their story.
Our ministry is designed to meet students where they are and help them grow through consistent connection and meaningful community.
How We Gather
We engage students at three intentional levels. Each level works together to create space for students to build relationships, experience God, and live out their faith.
Weekly Services
Monthly Momentum Events
Summer & Winter Camps
Weekly Services
Middle School
(6th – 8th Grade)
Sundays at 8:30, 9:45, and 11:30 AM
High School
(9th – 12th Grade)
Sundays at 6:00 pm
Our weekly services are divided by age group to better meet students where they are.
Students gather in a dedicated student auditorium designed specifically for them. Each service includes hangout time, games, live worship, a message, and small groups. We intentionally spend the majority of our time in teaching and small groups because we believe real life change happens in community.
Small group leaders are carefully selected through interviews, background checks, and ongoing spiritual wellness evaluations to ensure they are living what they lead. Our goal is for students to graduate with a clear understanding of who Jesus is, why following Him matters, and how to live that out in everyday life.
Momentum
Once a Month
6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Momentum is our once-a-month, high-energy gathering from 6:00–8:30 PM in the South Auditorium and Lobby.
Momentum nights are designed as a “come and see” experience—fun, engaging, and welcoming, while always centered on worship and the message. Events like Amazing Race or the RidgeStudents Rodeo create an inviting atmosphere, but the heart of Momentum is giving students an opportunity to encounter Jesus and respond to Him.
Worship plays a central role, led by talented student and adult leaders from across the state. We value freedom and authenticity in worship, encouraging students to engage fully.
Message time is where students hear God’s Word, wrestle with truth, and are challenged to live it out in their schools, homes, and relationships (James 1:22). Each Momentum night includes a Gospel invitation and time to respond through prayer and reflection.
EMERGE Camps
EMERGE offers students two powerful opportunities each year to step away from everyday life, grow deeper in their faith, and build lasting relationships.
EMERGE SMMR
Our week-long summer camp is held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Raleigh County. Students experience adventure activities like whitewater rafting, climbing, rappelling, zip lining, and time in nature—all designed to engage mind, body, and soul while pointing them to the Creator.
Each night features high-energy worship and impactful teaching from qualified, Spirit-led speakers who challenge students to respond to God’s calling on their lives.
EMERGE WKND
Our winter camp takes place at Camp Virgil Tate and offers a simpler, unplugged environment. Though shorter, this weekend retreat keeps worship and teaching at the same high level, creating space for students to reflect, connect, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
